Young Banana, Saging


Young Banana leaves (saging in tagalog) herbal medications.

Treatments for Bledding Wound: 
  • Pound young leaves until soft and juice.
  • Drop the juice over the wound. Apply them pressure the pounded leaves over the wound. Bandage snugly but not too tight. If bleeding does not stop after 15 minutes, bring the patient to the nearest hospital or clinic for proper treatment.

 

Bledding Wound



A wound is a cut or break in the skin and flesh resulting from injury. 

First Aid:
Get a piece of clean cloth and apply pressure directly over the wounds for 15 minutes. If the bleeding does not stop after 10 minutes of manual pressure, reinforce the cloth with a thicker piece of material and apply more pressure over the wound. Bandage snugly but not too tight. Let the patient lie down and bring him immediately to the nearest hospital or clinic if the wound is big and will need suturing. Observe for numbness and discoloration of the toes or fingers. If there is numbness and discoloration of the toes or fingers, the bandage is too tight. Loosen but don’t remove it.

Bee and Wasp Stings


Bee and wasp stings could be very painful, the pain could last for several days.

Herbal Medications (do any of the following):
  • Immediately rub the bitten area with vinegar or calamansi juice until the pain subsides.
  • Rub the bitten area with moist baking soda for 5 minutes. Repeat after 2 hours if still itchy and painful.


Garlic, Bawang

Garlic “for itchiness” (bawang in tagalog) herbal medications.

Treatments for Athlete’s Foot: 
  • Peel one clove and chop. 
  • Rub on the itchy areas, 2 times a day.

    Radish, Rabanus

    Radish tubers (rabanus in tagalong) herbal medications.

    Treatments for Athlete’s Foot: 
    • Chop tubers and extract juice.
    • Apply juice on the affected parts, 2 times a day.


        Golden Shower, Pudding Pipe Tree, Kanya Pistula

        Golden Shower, Pudding Pipe Tree leaves (kanya pistula in tagalog) herbal medications. 

        Treatments for Athlete’s Foot: 
        • Crush young leaves and extract juice. 
        • Apply on the affected part after hot foot bath in the tinospora rumphii boerl / makabuhay decoction.

          Sweet Basil leaves (Balanoy / Albunaka in Tagalog) water treatments using herbal decoctions.

          Treatments for Athlete's Foot:
          • Chop leaves and extract juice.
          • Apply the juice directly on the affected part after hot foot bath in the Makabuhay/Ringworm bush or shrub decoction.
